General Questions
GingerBread hats take varying amounts of time to make depending on the design. We endeavour to have the finished hat in the post to you within 10 working days, but it may often be quicker than this.
Of course we'll do whatever we can to let you know how long your design will take, as far in advance as we can. We want to make the hat of your dreams, just as much as you want to wear it!

How much is postage and packing?
For hats like Kaleidoscope or V Hat that cost under £100 we use Royal Mail Parcel, and charge £5.99 postage
For larger hats (such as Perfect Circle) that cost over £100 we use Parcel Delivery with aditional insurance, and charge £6.99

Do you do discounts/have a Referral Scheme?
Yes! You find out more about it on the Referral Scheme page.
When you order a hat from us, we will ask you for your head measurement. We will then make your hat to fit you.
Custom Design Questions
Yes, GingerBread promises all Custom Design hats are utterly unique. We work with you to decide on the colour, fabric and finishings of your hat, and add the photo to the custom design pages. So if you see 'Matrix' in gold sequin fabric in the CD section, we can't make that exact copy for you, I'm afraid. We will, however, work with you to come up with a variation that is even more perfect for you!
We try to use reclaimed or eco-friendly fabrics whenever possible. If we're having trouble sourcing a reclaimed fabric for a custom request, we'll let you know. Your conscience decides whether we carry on or not.

We work out the cost of a Custom Design hat like so:
Price of original design + £10 custom design charge + any additional costs for materials
So, for example, if you fancied 'Stud Muffin' in finest Chinese silk, we would cost it:
£48 (cost of Stud Muffin) + £10 (custom design charge) + £7.50(additional cost of using silk) = £65.50
Silk is lovely but generally expensive!
If you were to order 'Stud Muffin' in blue denim and black eyelets:
£48 (cost of Stud Muffin) + £10 (custom design charge) + 0 (Stud Muffin is already denim) = £58
If there are additional costs involved, we will advise you of these once we have estimates of how much they will be, but before we agree the final custom design (so if you discover that silk is a little too expensive for your tastes, you can change your mind!).
